My name is Lynn. I’m on a mission to reach thousands and make kids healing and recovery a household conversation.
As a child, at age 13 I was diagnosed with endometriosis and experienced debilitating pain on a monthly basis for 13 years. Drugs and surgery did NOT work. In 1996 I changed my diet. My pain ceased. No drugs. No hysterectomy. I’ve been at the mercy of medical doctors and at both ends of the nutritional spectrum. Nutrition alone brought me chronic relief.
As a parent, my son experienced multiple seizures a day. He was given a grim prognosis. The most rigid nutritional ketogenic diet for my son, was not enough. Nutrition for him was just the tip of the iceberg. I explored a functional path to healing. He is fully recovered for 4 plus years (and every day is a gift). No drugs. No brain surgery. He has a renewed chance at a fully functioning life.
As a practitioner, I’ve helped countless individuals improve their health using a systems approach rather than a symptom approach, as an F.D.N. Practitioner. I’ve pursued the certification as a F.D.N. practitioner and have studied at the Academy of Functional Medicine in extensive modules including vitamin, amino acid deficiencies, neurological disorders and gastrointestinal disorders. Nutritional supports as well as exploration into H.I.D.D.E.N stressors (Hormone, Immune, Digestive, Detoxification, Environment and Neurotransmitters) has done wonders for many clients, both young and old. The key is to find the right tools, so the body can heal. I research weekly to keep current and updated and have written an Ebook titled “Nutrition for Seizures”. I have a following on Facebook and at my websites Advocate for Healing and Nutrition for Seizures.
Kids Health 101 Podcast is intended to be used by thousands; those not limited to my community but to anyone in the world that has access to the internet. I took this vow when my son “miraculously” recovered. I’ll be interviewing all styles of practitioners that work with children and their parents. We’ll discuss everything from how to get our children to eat healthy (for all ages), nourish our teens, get supports for all types of symptoms (yes ADD and Autism are symptoms!) and help us parents feel empowered. Please join me in this crusade.
I have two beautiful children: Lainey, 13 and Koa age 10 and an extremely supportive fun loving husband. The above picture captures my family so well. The kids bring me so much light, humor into my life while training me in tolerance. We live in beautiful Mammoth Lakes where I love to hike, bike, run, ski, and live in the outdoors.
